Core Competency
For this enzyme “toothpick” lab all three core competencies of communication, thinking and personal/social along with their sub categories were well displayed. Communication was a big factor for the lab to be successful as each step within the lab involving toothpicks had a set time limit. Me and my partner used communication to ensure each step was planned carefully and that during the parts of the lab which were timed both of us were aware when the timer would start. The core competency thinking was specifically displayed through critical thinking, which was used to answer the questions relating to the data from the lab. Next time I would use more resources like my textbook rather than just class notes to complete the questions. For personal identity this lab displayed my strengths and weakness. A weakness would have been the stress of time constraint and a strength would have been the ability to stay organized throughout the entire procedure. Decisions were made based on importance and relevance to current information I already knew. I believe this was a good choice as filling out what I knew allowed me to make connections to what I did not which helped answer other questions.
