Social Hierarchy

Fridays lesson is all about place in society and the relationship between social class groups.

You need to make your own Social Pyramid.  You will take an organization / group you are part of and rank the involved groupings.  My in-class examples are Centenial (Principal –> Office Staff –> Teachers –> students) and a hockey team (Coach –> Manager/assistant coaches –> Captains –> players).  You also need to explain the power relationship (The Coach makes the practice plan and asks each assistant to run a station in return they gain respect and obedience from the players.  The captains demonstrate the drill and get referee talking privileges).

The Pyrmaid will be graded… appears / effort 5 marks, Power Relationship breakdown information 5 marks, understanding a hierarchy 5 marks for 15 marks total

You can make the Social Heiarchy on any platform / medium you prefer (Paper, WordDoc, PPT, Poster board, Clay).

Puritan

Today we defined Puritans (English protestants looking for a simple religious choice.

We also defined the enlightenment.  You made a T – Chart discussing Hobbes (life is brutal and short and government controls us for our own good) and Locke (People are born free and have a right to life, liberty and property).

We watched a Crash course on the enlightenment as well (we went over the questions in class).
