My favourite quote

This quote means a lot to me because it encourages me to try my hardest. That if I work really hard, i’ll have a great outcome and ‘pursue my dream.’ It also reminds me that if someone thinks my goal is not ‘good enough,’ I will still keep working for it because it doesn’t matter what other people think. I’ll set my heart to something and work for that.
Walt Disney facts: My favorite video
I chose this video because Walt Disney is one of my heroes. One reason is because he was a really hard working person. There were many times he wanted to quit what he was doing because he didn’t think he would make it. He had very little money when he was young and it didn’t seem Walt was getting anywhere. But he kept trying until he finally succeeded, and that was the very beginning of the Walt Disney Company. The other reason is this ‘little park’ he created. Walt planned on making a little theme park to take his kids to and had no idea the amount of money he’d get out of this. Disneyland kept growing and growing until it became what it is today, and as Walt said, “Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world.” The reason Disneyland means so much to me is because it is a place where I can escape the real world. My oldest brother passed away when I was little and I remember the trips to Disneyland with him. It was a place where we didn’t need to think about doctor appointments or our real life. It was our happy place. Walt didn’t make this place for me, or my family, or any other family that’s been to Disneyland, but this land exists because of him. This very hard working man, my hero – Walt Disney.
My favourite photo
The reason I chose this picture is because it shows how much hockey means to me and my family. When my brother was about 6, his hockey team won some competition, so they got to see the Stanley Cup. I was about 2 months old in this picture and since that day I have loved hockey. I have also spent a lot of time at Canuck Place Children’s Hospice when my brother was sick, so I got to meet the Canucks a few times. I love hockey because I think it’s a really cool sport, but I also think it means a lot to me because it connects me to my brothers, and brings us closer.
My favourite website: Khan Academy
I chose this website because I really like to use Khan Academy to practice math. I like that I can work at my own pace, and if I don’t understand something I can go back and practice that until I figure it out. I also use this website to review some science and other subjects.
