My 2022/2023 year
This year was my first in the school’s Leadership class. My friends and I were responsible for maintaining the catch basins along Tipton, Lemax, and Berry. We were very successful in connecting with and making a positive impact on the community.
Overall, I have been able to maintain a 95% GPA this year, which is on track with my goal to graduate with Honour roll with Distinction next year. I am satisfied with the grades I have achieved in all of my courses this year.
This year I really struggled with maintaining positive study habits. Particularly towards the end of Semester One, I felt especially desolate and unmotivated. It was the first time that I had more than one final exam in a semester, and the anxiety was so overwhelming that I wanted to give up everyday. However, I was able to find the motivation to study with my friends and did well on all my end-of-term assessments.
Tying into the point above, One of the largest sources of anxiety for me in January was my upcoming Biology exam. Leading up to the final, my overall grade in the course was an 85%, which was about 10% lower than my grades in the rest of my classes. I really wanted to get an A in the course, so I studied for that final more than I have studied for anything else. It was all multiple choice, so I was apprehensive about the lack of opportunity to gain partial marks. I got exactly an 86% on the final, which bumped my overall grade up to the 86% that I wanted. It was really satisfying to see my hard work pay off.
