Choose Your Own Adventure: Concert

Communication reflection

Imagine the feeling of music blasting, dancing with your friends, and being able to see your favourite music artist. If you are engaged then this story is for you. Our group used the twine app to create our choose your own story. We ran into a few minor problems with sending the file to one another. We solved this problem by communicated in person. During the break, we used our time wisely and was able to finish our project with success. We communicated online and expressed our ideas during school. Our group didn’t assign specific jobs because of the difficulties we ran into. Overall I am proud of our groups working habits and wouldn’t change the project.

My Model Town

Name of the town: Koalemos

Company Name: Mighty Greek Farmers

Resources available: Wheat, corn, fish/seafood, barley, and oats.

Elements of the town: Ocean, plain land, and hills.

Population: 1,044

Explanation / Brief History:

In 1855 Koalemos, a dumb man named after the dumbest Greek god decided to go travel across Greece in his boat. As he was travelling, he came across an abended fish village placed beside the ocean. He decided to bring it back to life and BE KING. He was not capable to lead/create a society, so he ordered soldiers to remake the village. When the fish village was finish the population increased 60% of the original population because the food was so nutritious from the large amount of seafood and crops produced.

A. How was the ease of access in building the town, despite this being a very super basic software? I enjoyed how many different tools, buildings, roads, and much more. You could really make it your own town.

B. Were you able to apply the skills you learned in the planning stages appropriately to a digital environment? I am not great with technology so the website we used was very simple and easy to understand with made this project enjoyable!

C. What were the sources you researched that made this an “authentic make-believe” town? I researched on Greek gods and Greek villages that helped me form my Kolalemos village.

D. Is there other software online that could have done the job better? Explain. Im not sure another software but I enjoyed the one we used.

About Me

My Bio

My name is Makena Calder……

In April I Makena Calder was born being Half polish (moms side) and half Canadian (dads side) Growing up I loved the outdoors which was expected because I live in a forest. I have travelled lots to Hawaii and that is were my name originated from. Makena Beach in Maui. My beast courses are photography, I relish taking pictures and learning about the camera. My worst courses are defiantly Math and English. I am not looking forward to Math and English as it is my most challenged subjects, but I believe I will get through it. Im also a big fan of dancing and listening to music. I learn best when I am in groups so I can have others opinions and group decisions. As the school years continue I am thrilled to have new experiences throughout high school. It was nice meeting you!

My Favourite Website

Since I was young I have loved fashion and style. When I visit this website it encourages and inspires me to dress with some style. I also like the visual of Fashion Magazine and seeing all the styles of photography and unique fashion. I find it visually neat to see the collages, clothes, and accessories.

My Favourite Video

I don’t have a favourite video on the internet. But my mom has created DVDS since I was born. It very interesting to watch myself as a baby and all the funny stunts I did when I was younger. My favourite DVD is in 2007 when I was 1 years old. It is a DVD with all my funny stunts and play fights with my friends every time it will make me laugh, I have probably watched the DVD 50 times and 50 more times.

My Favourite Image

Greece Athens

I like this picture because it reminds me of memories and adventures during the family trip. I remember walking past the ginormouse Acropolis and having that crazy feeling like when you go on a rollercoaster. When I look at the photo I get that same crazy feeling every time.

My Favourite Quote

“The question isn’t ‘Who is going to let me?’, it’s ‘Who is going to stop me?”
— Ayn Rand

This quote inspires me to be who I am and go out there and not let people stop you for doing what you love. Since I was young I have loved that quote.
