My Storyboard

My Reflection

Tim Burton, in Edward Scissorhands, used lighting in scene four, where we see jims dead body out the window on the grass in Order to make the character stand out in the moon light to make jims death more intense, important for example, in scene four where Jim dies, there is a lot of low key lighting, and Kim in a white dress. The white dress Kim is wearing makes her stand out from all the dark colours and makes her look like the “good guy”. I think Tim did this on purpose to show that Kim is against what Jim is saying and on Edwards side. When Jim falls through the window and lands in the ground, there is a lot of moon light that highlights is body. I believe Tim dose this to make jims death feel more important than if it was a lot darker. Own interpretation, I kept this scene as close to the original as possible to not lose the power behind the original scene. I used black bars as the window and had him laying dead on the grass. This adaptation from film to visual novel taught me different filming techniques, how movies are made ( at least with shots and framing) how to use story board that. I’ve leaned how to understand film terminology, such as editing techniques, lighting and others. I can now understand movies better while watching them to.
