Creative Thinking Surrealism Project (Ryan A)

“I can make my ideas work or change what I am doing”

Reflection

This project represents the “I can statement” by showing that I was able to make a collection of objects, items, and images to fit into a different scene with different lighting. I was able to do this by using the skills I used in Photoshop to make them fit into the background image. I also used the skills I learned around exposure settings on the camera itself to make the foreign objects fit better. I made my ideas work by adjusting the lighting in post and coming up with new ideas when previous ones didn’t work. Overall I am very satsisfeid with the final quality of the image and how I used my skills to make my ideas work.

Core Competency Reflection.

Creative thinking

I demonstrated the creative thinking core competency when creating this project by coming up with interesting designs and figuring out ways to make the poster look more pleasing to the eye. I thought of the idea of using paint markers to create designs and highlight certain areas and titles of the poster. Overall I think I did a good job at drawing attention to certain areas of the poster using the paint markers effectively.

English First Peoples 11 Reflection

My Artifact

Curricular Competency Reflection

I demonstrated the Create and Communicate Competency In this artifact by creating images and communicating why this place was important to First Peoples. The First Peoples have many stories of this land and how it shaped their world, and by going out and exploring this place first hand I developed a deeper understanding of why the Land shapes who they are.

Core Competencies Reflection

When creating this artifact I grew in the thinking competency by developing a deeper connection to the land through personal experiences. I could use Imagery to imagine the Squamish people’s stories and grasp the idea of how they thought the world was shaped around them. I reflected this in my writing explaining the stories and area of the images created.
