The five values we chose for our city was:

Joy

Creativity

Economic prosperity

Health

Religion

For Joy we built a park behind most of the buildings, Parks are nice peaceful areas that are pretty and just lightens up the mood a bit which is why we chose that for joy.

For creativity we chose a school with special classes, an art room, a woodwork and carpentry room, and a computer lab for people to express their creativity through many different medias.

For economic prosperity we chose a freight yard and a port to connect are city with the rest of the “world” by establishing global trade with a port for ships and a giant crane to pick up the containers off the trains and into the ships.

For health we did something simple, we just mad a hospital to heal residents of this city and to have an uncomplicated way to get medical attention quickly.

For religion we established a church so that religious members of the city can have a place to pray and worship and feel included in our city.

Communication Reflection.

This project is about creating a city using an online platform. The city is built out of certain values that you would want in a city like health, or religion. The program we used to make the city was Minecraft. Minecraft is a video game where you can create things and go on an adventure. We used the creative aspect of it to build our city in scale. I felt like Minecraft was the best way to do it because you are not limited to certain structures, you can build anything. We used discord to communicate and share ideas. We found a promising idea quickly because we combined our two drawings of what the city might look like. And we also combined are values to find the best ones. I think it turned out rather good. I did not use my time really efficiently but we finished the city quickly so it was all right on that part. The whole project went smooth sailing despite some difficulties to have multiple people on a server, we finished it quickly in the end. I thought the city turned out nice especially with the mod pack I installed to make it look more realistic, if we had to improve our city, I would say to have more creative ideas rather than religion for a church, or health for a hospital. However overall, I thought it turned out really good.
