Show and Tell Presentation Reflection and Self- Assessment

Curricular response

I think the greatest strengths of my presentation were keeping peoples attention, organization, and speaking. I decided to keep peoples attention by constantly switching the media types (ex. 1 slide-music video- 2 slides- song- question- 1 slide) I find that this style keeps students engaged throughout the presentation. For organization I spent a lot of time researching and putting it into a brief bullet point format then speaking about it in more detail. I find that speaking without a script and from your memory makes the presentation more engaging and more like a conversation with the class rather than a presentation.
If I were to do this project again I would have not procrastinated. I procrastinated having it done until the week of and it made it very stressful, especially with it being finals week. I would have rather used the class time more wisely so id have most done without needing to work on it at home.

Core Competency self assessment

I decided to go with punk music because its something I have a lot of knowledge about. I have been listening to punk music since I was very young since my dad listens to it. I started listening to it on my own when I was around 13 and started learning about the culture around it. Now I’ve gone to a few underground punk shows and some at bigger venues and have been involved in the punk community for a few years.
I decided to collaborate the experience and knowledge that I had with sites that I found on punk culture and music. Most of the history aspect was researched since I didn’t know much about that but a lot of the rest was my knowledge from years of experience in punk music. I also have a lot of friends who share punk values and love the music so I asked for their opinion as well.
