Shakshuka
Making and Sharing Reflection
I read the shakshuka recipe multiple times, and I paid attention to the demonstration. I didn’t finish filling out the recipe yet though. When I made the shakshuka it was a team effort. I also didn’t make any changes to the recipe. I used the correct pan for the stove and oven. It was a cast iron pan. You don’t always have to pay attention to your cooking only when you need to. Also make sure what pan you use. Always use an oven mitt as well when putting it in the oven. I also relearned about more knife skills like minced. You have to pay attention about how you’re cutting your vegetables. I also relearned how to sauté my vegetables.
Ingredients: Olive Oli, 1/2 finely diced onions, 1/2 thinly sliced bell peppers, 2 minced garlic cloves, 7ml ground cumin, 7ml coriander, 5ml paprika, 0.5ml or a pinch of cayenne pepper, 375ml chopped plum tomato with juices, 5ml vinegar, salt and pepper for tasting, large handful of spinach arugula (you can also use chiffonade), small chunk of feta cheese that is crumbles, 2 egg and for garnish you could add chopped cilantro, basil and/or flat leaf parsley.
This recipe I shared with 3 people. I’ll give the recipe a five out of five. I think I can make this with some help and be probably more successful than when I do it independently. I’m also more successful in a group since I can ask for help.
Core Competency Reflection
· My strategies for collecting relevant information for specific tasks include asking for help. I improved on this because I use the demo time to pay attention and asked more questions.
As an active listener, I notice that I find that I know what to do. I improved on this by listening to the teacher’s instructions.
· If there is disagreement within the group, I find it helpful to help find on what we agree on.
I chose this problem because it will probably help us work better and I’ll work on this problem by finding a solution for us to agree on.
