Creative Thinking Prompts
One strategy or activity that stimulates my imagination is- I use my imagination everyday, however, it is rarely school related. This year I am going to try to use my imagination for schoolwork and find a activities that will stimulate my imagination. I am currently taking art 12 and imagination is a great asset for the course. Aside from art I can use my imagination to plan out the things I will be doing for the day, and create a mental check list. In order to use my imagination effectively, I have to stimulate it. I can achieve this by going to social media. I can watch video essay or other commentary videos to gather idea for any up coming assignments that involves writing. I could also browse the internet, and look at other artist’s for inspiration and, picture what I want to draw for my next art piece.
An example of where I took a significant risk in my thinking or the expected process was when- Sometimes in order to achieve greatness, we have to take risk. By the end of this semester I plan on getting out of my comfort zone and have an example of significant risk I took when working on a project. I can try something new and make an art piece using a medium I am not proficient in. I also plan to ask my social justice teacher if it would be possible for me to make a documentary video rather than writing an essay. Though I have never made I documentary video in the past I have experience in video editing and I have seen a lot of documentaries in YouTube. It is a risk as I am not as experienced, but I love trying new things, and I know that with hard work and determination I can achieve my goal.
When faced with ambiguity or setbacks, I… to advance the development of my ideas.- Setbacks is a challenge that everyone faces inevitability. Throughout the semester I plan on finding ways to move forward and develop ideas when I am faced with a set back. I can practice getting out of my comfort zone and ask other’s questions when I am stuck on a question, or have troubles in a project. Then when I am given a response I could use their input to develop of my idea and not blatantly steal what they states.
