Communication CC:
I can work with others to achieve a goal. For the fetal pig dissection lab, we had an assignment where our group had to name and identify parts inside the pig. By taking turns, each member had to successfully identify the part for the whole group to get a mark; therefore I demonstrated working with others to achieve a goal, which was helping each other out and practicing together so that we’d all be ready. This also took effort and patience since we all had to be confident in our knowledge and constantly be helping each other remember the many different parts inside the pig.
Thinking CC:
I can analyze evidence to make judgements. Some parts in identifying the fetal was difficult to do, especially since it does not always look exactly same as the diagrams we see online. So to really identify the different organs parts, I analyze the evidences such as where the organ is located, the size, shape, and referring to the printed diagrams as well. By doing so, I can make judgments on identifying the different organ structures after gathering the evidences.
Personal CC:
I can persevere with challenging tasks and take ownership of my goals, learning and behavior. Making the first incision on the pig was challenging, because it was hard to tell how deep the cut had to be without damaging the inside. Unfortunately, I had make the cut a little too deep, which ended up damaging the throat area quite a bit. From this experience, I learned that incisions had to be made carefully and precisely. Despite some complications and challenges, I continued with my dissection until the end, also by making cuts into the flesh more mindfully instead of recklessly.
