An example of where I built upon someone else’s idea is when I browse through Pinterest to find inspiration. When coming up with a mood mug idea, I wasn’t sure on what I wanted to do because I did not want to create a simple mood since I thought it would feel a little boring to make. So upon scrolling through Pinterest, I found clown drawing under the search “different mood”. I know that clown is not a mood, but it is used to describe a mood symbolically. I decided to use this idea to create a mood for my mug project. I played around with the colours a little by choosing purple as its main colour instead of using standard red used for clowns. However, the result didn’t come out as i expected rescue i did use red for its lips and nose, but it seems like the colouring has changed after it has been fired. From this experience i learned to properly check how a glaze colour will turn out after being fired so i don’t evidently repeat the same mistake. But overall, I demonstrated building on Simone else’s idea by finding a simple inspiration online and making changes to it to create a new idea.
