Cooking at home#7

I made a kimchi fried rice. There are kimchi, rice, ham and egg. Kimchi fried rice need to put a half egg on top of the fried rice.

However, you don’t have to put half egg if you don’t like it. Also its more delicious if you eat it with egg soup or instant noodle soup. It tastes a little bit spicy and smells a little bit spicy, too. If I can make this dish again, I will add more powdered Korean red pepper. I had to overcome to cook only one part of the fried egg, and I should have been careful not to splash oil when sprinkling salt on the egg. My greatest success in dish was prepare the ingredients well because I prepared the ingredients so I don’t have to go to the store to buy the ingredients. I am most proud of about this experience is I did not get my mom’s help so I am proud of myself.

I made a Korean traditional basic noodles(잔치국수-janchigooksu). It has noodles, squash, carrot, radish, fried tofu, and laver. It smells savoury because of sesame oil. It tastes really delicious because of anchovy. If I can make this dish again, I want to put more sesame oil. I have to overcome the cutting skills. My mom helped me to cutting squash , carrot, radish, and fried tofu. My greatest success in the dish is in the preparation because I prepared the ingredients well. I am most proud of about boiling anchovy.

Cooking at home-mini buddha bowls lesson

I was able to make a successful Buddha bowl. I didn’t feel any trouble making it. I like green olives, but it was salty in its own way, so I didn’t need any extra salinity. But I already added salt. So it was a little bit salty. My Buddha bowl is colourful and looks healthy food. It tastes a little bit salty and spicy and it smells good because of dressing sauce.

I was not usually good at cutting, so I wanted to improve cutting food neatly with a knife. I used  a website. This website is helpful to improve cutting ingredients. https://samcheon.tistory.com/646. I made a waffle with strawberry and orange. I practiced cutting strawberries and oranges neatly for waffles. If someone want to learn these skills, I will be advised to be careful of knives and not to rush because fruits are slippery. I was a little afraid because I cut my hand while cutting slippery onions when I was young, but I overcame it. I put on gloves and cut fruits so that I wouldn’t get hurt, and my sister helped me. I sprinkled sugar powder and maple syrup on the waffle and it looked more appetizing and successful. I am most satisfied that I cut the fruit neatly and decorated it well.

I made a dish called seaweed soup(미역국)in Korea. I used stir-fried beef(bulgogi) left over from last night. Seaweed soup is healthy and delicious. I were to make this dish again, I would add some more soy sauce because it was a little bland and tasteless. Homestay helped me because it was a little difficult to cut the seaweed on the cutting board. And I made it using the leftover bulgogi yesterday, and it was more delicious and savory. The smell was so good and when I tasted it. I was proud of it because it was delicious.

I made Korean dish called Japchae. It is a dish mixed with chopped vegetables and meat paste mixed with boiled glass noodles. It is a food with a savory smell, gold-coluored, colourful vegetables, and nutritious taste.

I was scared because the oil splashed while frying the meat, but my sister helped me. And the noodles boiled well to keep them from getting soggy. So I was proud of myself.

Communication

Communication is a big part of working In the kitchen with my partner/group members because Because we have different tastes. For instance we communicated about whether to add more sugar or not. We tried to communicate at every time. If group members are not communicating, the group members can make fight so the group members should communicate.

Safety and Sanitation

I think this omelet was more complicated and difficult than other food receipt. I was worried about how to fold the egg in half and transfer the finished omelet to a plate. I think I did well these processes. So, it was successful and satisfying in comparison to my worries. And we had to stove safety and knife safety. I tried to turn off the oven right away when I am not using it and turn it on only when I am using it, when I am using a knife, I tried to use it carefully and I never put metal objects in microwave and close the door when not in use. And before the lap, I tied my hair, wore the apron and washed my hands. These things were important because of hygiene.
