Making omelettes was one of my favourite labs however, it was the trickiest. We had already learned the basics of sanitation but it was our first time using a knife during class. To prevent cutting our fingers, we placed the food flat on the cutting board, and made small circling motions with the knife. We also learned how to hold a knife properly. It was my first time using a big knife, and with the simple information I learned in class, it made it easier. An important sanitation rule I had learned in food class, is to always crack an egg in a custard cup before adding to the bowl. This will prevent any egg shells falling into your food. All these safety and sanitation rules will keep our food clean, and will keep us safe.
