For my French 12 Skit project, my peers and I decided to film a cooking show. Through this project, we demonstrated the creative thinking and communication Core Competency. Our creative concept of “unprofessional professional chefs” allowed us to make use of all of our various grammar points by asking seemingly “stupid” questions. We also incorporated multiple funny anecdotes and cultural phrases to make our script flow, amuse our audiences and make our show seem authentic. Furthermore, our group worked well collaboratively to come up with the script, recipe and filming process. We understood what each of our roles was throughout the entire process; While one person was speaking, the others were either filming or cooking to accelerate the cooking process. Overall, this cooking show skit was a rewarding and enjoyable experience and a great way to conclude the French curriculum in high school.
