Critical and Reflective Thinking & Creative thinking

Explanation

Core Competency“I can” statementReflection
Thinking  I can get new ideas or build upon the ideas of others to create new things within the constraints of form or material. -I can get new ideas to create new things – I can use my imagination to get new ideas of my own – I can usually make ideas work within the constraints of a given form, problem, or material of I keep playing with themI developed two key elements in the testing for acids and bases activity. First, I incorporated a new technique for applying science lab actions to learn that Acids react with active metals and that bases do not typically react with metals in this way.            Then, I broke a belief I used to have, thinking that only great scientists can observe reactions and that you need particular substances. However, using any solution (e.g., vinegar, pop, or other ingredients) helped me observe the reactions of acids and bases. The steps and materials we used taught me that we can be creative if we understand basic meanings.   Additionally, this was my favourite among all the lab experiments we conducted during the semester in class, allowing me to incorporate it into the theoretical assignments.

First, I incorporated a new technique for applying science lab actions to learn that DNA can be easily seen with the naked eye when collected from thousands of cells.
Then, I broke a belief that I used to have, thinking that only great scientists can observe DNA by using high-definition microscopes and sophisticated tools and chemicals. However, the steps and materials we used made me understand that we can be very creative if we understand basic meanings.   Additionally, among all the lab experiments we conducted during the semester in class, this was my favourite, allowing me to incorporate it into the theoretical assignments.   Even my curiosity went so far that I will apply this technique at home during vacations and observe more cells.

Desmos Polygraph Activity

Core Competency Reflection

Through the Desmos Polygraph activity I was able to develop two core competencies. One has to do with teamwork and socializing with other people to achieve a common goal and the other is that it allowed me to develop mental agility since the activity required quick thinking.I also had the opportunity to identify some of my own limits, for example that I should keep reworking some mathematical terminology in English in order to be faster in my answers. But overall I liked the activity.

My Favourite Activity

Topic: My favourite Activity

My favourite activity is playing video games on PlayStation. First, PlayStation is an amazing activity to have a good time with friends. For example, I can connect online with my friends in other countries, play together, and have a good time. Moreover, PlayStation has thousands of games for many different ages, interests, expertise, and budgets. For this reason, I prefer strategic games such as The Last of Us, Rainbow Six Siege, God of War, Minecraft, and FIFA 23. In addition, this activity has benefits. For example, it has helped me to locate better and think fast because, in many games, you have to develop strategies. In conclusion, I like to play video games to have good time with friends, to play many games, and gggghave new abilities.

Core Competency

The core competency I chose for this activity is: “I can get new ideas in areas in which I have an interest and build my skills to make them work. I generate new ideas as I pursue my interest. I deliberately learn a lot about something by researching, talking to others, or practicing to generate new ideas about it.” With this competency, I could practice my new English abilities, such as writing and grammar. After these months, I feel more confident writing paragraphs in English. As a result, I could complete more assignments more quickly. Finally, I commit myself to keep improving my skills in ELL.
