Comparison To Canada

Argentina is very different then Canada so I will talk about many different things such as traditions, sports, landmarks, holidays and music.

Canadian traditional food and drinks are more interesting for example we have poutines, maple syrup, and beaver tails. However Argentina has yerba mate a hot drink with herbs steeped in water, empanadas which is a meat and vegetable filling surrounded in dough, and milanesa which is breaded and fried chicken or beef.

The most popular sports in Canada are hockey then basketball and then soccer. But in Argentina it is futbol, polo and basketball.

Some most popular landmarks in Canada are visiting Niagara falls snowboarding or skiing in whistler or visiting the capilano suspension bridge. In Argentina it is the iguazu falls, Salinas grandes, and Tren a Las nubes.

Some holidays in Canada include Canada Day, Canadian Thanksgiving, and Remembrance day. For Argentina they have the 5 days of passover, carnival, and memorial day.

For music in Canada the most listened to types are pop, rock, country, and hip hop. Argentina’s is Cuban, Spanish, Slavic and Italian Folk music.

Lastly if i had the chance to visit i would for sure since there is so much to see and do with all the celebrations and such plus there are a lot of different foods and drinks i would love to try such as alfajores, empanadas and llama steak.

Core Competencies Reflection

I take on roles and responsibilities in a group i do my share. I did this in my group because my and my partner carefully went through everything that was needed and choose what we wanted to do and if we didnt do it in time for class we would work on it at home.

I can represent my learning and can tell how it connects to my experiences. I did this when i used all the information that me and my partner found to discuss about Argentina to the rest of the class.

I can identify my strengths and identify my potential. i did this when me and my partner discussed what we wanted to do and i said that doing a poster would be harder for us to do together which is a weakness and i know how to do PowerPoints which is a strength.

For a goal i want to be better being in a group with people i don’t know that well or at all since I can usually only work well in a group with at least one person i know and to help me get that goal I’m gonna try and be with people who i don’t talk to at all.

Problem

The problem is that we are trying to plan different meals for a family but they all have schedules that are different so we need to find a way they can all eat together.

Solution

We plan out different meals for each member of the family to cook that is fair and equal and that they can all try to eat together at most times and make sure that the dishes are not to hard for the person using a table.

Justification

On Monday parent B cooks, I think this is a good idea since they get home before parent A and salmon is easy to mess up so its not best for the teens.

On Tuesday parent A cooks, I think it is a good idea since the recipe is not too hard after work and the teens could be busy with homework.

On Wednesday I have teen 1 cooking, I think it is a good idea since teen one is home almost all day which gives them time to prep for dinner and they can cook more advanced meals rather then teen 2.

On Thursday I have teen 1 and teen 2 cooking, i think it is a good idea since it could be good for family time and teen 2 can’t cook without someone else for more difficult recipes.

On Friday parent B is cooking, i think this is a good choice because they get home before parent A and while it seems easy it has many different flavors you could mess up.

Collaboration Reflection

Question 1. Me and my group communicated by using teams and word to share our ideas and make decisions.

Question 2. My group used technology to find most of our recipes and we used it too write our draft table and how we communicate are our ideas to each other.

Question 3. We distributed the jobs and tasks, by one person explaining the jobs and anyone who liked the idea could choose that job.

Question 4. I helped to find recipes and i explained most of the jobs on teams which can be found in my groups chat.

Persuasion and Advertisement techniques

Our project is on a fake 711 called seventy 1. We decided to do this since it’s different then just having a singular product or just a item to sell which is why we did a store since it seems more creative. What are project is supposed to do is to tell our audience that there is a store that is different from the rest with its quality in our products and the cheap and affordable prices. How it does this is by showing our food and also showing a rewards card to convince the person even more that if they buy something they get something back, and we also crossed out other stores while saying ours in better so they feel like for their good they should go to our store. We used the techniques are Eye catching and special offer.

Core Competency Reflection

I can work with others to achieve a goal i showed this in my group by us finishing our project and splitting the jobs between each other.

I can take on roles and responsibilities in a group and i do my share i showed this by taking part of making the slide show and putting in all the photos into our video and posting it.

I can identify my strengths and identify my potential i did this by knowing that i don’t really have a strength in talking on video or talking in general so i stuck to making the video and editing which i’m pretty decent at.

I can work to inform myself about the issues around me i showed this at the time by knowing since lot’s of people might use the green screen we decided to save time and make a digital video instead.

My name is Aiden and i’m a grade 9 at centennial high school in Coquitlam and some things you might want to know about me is that i mostly play video games and i read from time to time. But i have a habit of mostly reading when i don’t have free time and would read in class and not listen to the lesson so, i try not too start reading in the first place. I spend most of my time inside since gaming is my main hobby but i do go out with my friends sometimes i also enjoy cooking and baking but cooking is more of my thing then baking. I used to play sports a lot but never in a team i don’t like team sports really since i think there’s too much expectation in playing with a team, in both gaming and sports but i can handle games better and its kinda funny too. But i have traveled a bunch and i have goals are they are just to focus on my classes and do good and to also not read during class which is not going to good at the moment. And the classes i like and hate are metal and woods shop and socials right now.
