when I am sad, angry or frustrated listening to music helps me be more productive or calm.
I respectfully advocate for my needs by asking the teacher for help with an assignment when I really don’t understand.
although I am challenged by math, I can get through these challenges by asking more questions and trying to understand what I am being taught better.
one of the goals I have for myself is to have a better understanding of what I am learning. “I can contribute to and work with criteria to improve my own work.”
In October Honduras has a fish festival. In October in Canada we celebrate Halloween at the end of the month. The sport that is most popular in Honduras is football [soccer]. In Canada the most popular sport is ice hockey. The most known landmark to attract tourists in the ruins of Copan near the Guatemalan border are a UNESCO world heritage site. The abandoned Mayan city includes temples, pyramids, ball courts and countless examples of Mayan architecture. some landmarks in Canada are Niagara falls, Ontario. lake Louise, Alberta. mount Robson, Canadian Rockies. Hopewell rocks, new Brunswick. Carcross desert, Yukon. Canadian museum for human rights, CN tower, etc. In December Honduras has a royal walk of the giant chimneys. in December Canada has Christmas. I would want to travel to this country because it seems like it has some pretty cool tourist attractions.
Core Competency Reflection
I can form new ideas to create new things. I can also build on the ideas of others. I chose this one because working on this project I had to be able to incorporate my partners ideas into the project.
I can encourage others to share their voices and value diverse perspectives. I chose this one because I had to ask for my partners opinion on anything I wasn’t sure about and I made sure he had a say in what we were doing and how we were doing it.
I can reflect on my thinking. I chose this one because I can reflect on what I am thinking about and make sure my ideas are beneficial to the project.
I can analyze evidence to make judgements. I chose this one because I always make sure to look over any work to make sure it was done correctly and if it wasn’t maybe make certain changes. if my partner has an opinion on how something should be said or how something should look I inspect the problem, make a fair judgement and make changes that meets both of our wants.
A goal I have for myself moving forwards… is to hand in work before or on the due date. “I recognize my emotions and use strategies to manage them.” I intend on working on this moving forwards.
I learned how to continue a story by using creative thinking. I learned how to express my thoughts into the story. I learned how to represent the characters feelings and actions. I learned how to do that in this assignment by creating a scene that is realistic to what would happen after the short story we read took place. I kept the same characteristics for them and mostly focused on the father since he was a main character. I brought in the mother to have brief conversations with her husband, I didn’t physically in words bring Johnny into the story but he was the main topic in the story.
Creative thinking
I experienced creative thinking by extending my thinking to give a good story. in the short story Mr. Purcell wasn’t putting effort into his son and was always drinking. at the end of the story it ended with Johnny running away from his father and Mr. Purcell realized he needed to be better for his son. I thought about regrets and running out of time to tell someone something. I thought of Johnny being missing and Mr. Purcell being worried and going through emotional distress and drinking lots and when he drinks lots he tends to lash out at his wife. in the short story Ms. Purcell wasn’t in much of it so I made sure to include her and make her have her own voice and to stand up to her husband and put him in his place. in the end Mr. and Ms. Purcell found out that there son was dead and Mr. Purcell would never get the chance to make it up to Johnny for never being there, he would be feeling guilt and a huge amount of sadness.
I learned that my great-grandma was born in 1932 during the great depression. I learned that I am more Scandinavian and Swedish from my dad’s side but I am also, german, Italian, French, British, European, and Canadian. I am mostly Swedish though. French, Italian, German, and British come from my mom’s side. I learned that family on my mom’s side that were alive before my great-grandma immigrated from Germany to Canada. they stopped in Russia and then went to Canada all by boat.
My goal
My goal is to improve on being productive in a group
Core Competency Reflection
I notice when people feel left out and I talk and get to know them/hear what they have to say to make sure they feel included.
When I need to boost my mood or re-focus, I eat something and put some music on and continue my work
I make an effort to include missing voices/ perspectives by letting them voice their ideas to the group
If the group is not productive, we can give out tasks for each other and re-group in order to get things moving in the right direction.
I have learned that you must be aware of what you post on social media, and it can be good for finding cool current ideas and sharing news, spreading awareness with others but it can also be bad, I have been taught to be careful what you share because once you post something, it is always there. There are things you can do to help protect yourself like making your account private or limiting your screen time. Things that can help are not having multiple accounts and having one for a job and one private personal account. Be careful what you share, and don’t share too much. Being responsible with what you say to others and not putting them down/bullying them and what you do on the app not hacking accounts or scamming people. Keeping yourself safe by using a 2-step verification to get into your accounts.
Being careful how much you share and if you post something that someone else does not agree with you talk to them outside of the app and in a more undisclosed setting because arguing with them in the comments of your post could lead to miss information and someone else could look at that argument, side with a person, and intervene or they could read the situation wrong and say something that is not relevant to the argument. By fighting back with a person in comments on social platforms you’re making it so that 1-50 people see it depending on your following. If it is a private matter do not share it for others to see, for the attention of people for one second of their time. Deal with your problems outside of social media and not in the public eye. If you post your opinion on a situation in the world. For example, prime minister Justin Trudeau, you might dislike him and post a hate post on him. Someone could go onto your post and put a whole paragraph of their opinion on how they support him, you could respond, and things can quickly get heated if that person and you are both passionate about the subject.
There are multiple dangers on the internet like you could be tracked or anything you post could get screenshotted and edited to be used against you. Your accounts could be hacked, and you could fall for scams or tricks to get you to give your money to the person on the other side. You could get catfished or fooled and could be talking to someone who is not who they say they are. It is also easy to get lost in your phone for hours, scrolling through Tik Tok or talking to friends on Snapchat. You can spend lots of time on your phone procrastinating work and chores. Spending long amounts of time on your phone every day is not healthy, you’re getting distracted and not focusing in class on the important work you’re given, and the teachers put effort into teaching you lessons just for you to not pay any attention and have to be taught again which then becomes repetitive. I chose this photo because it shows someone spending three hours a day on Snapchat which then at the end of the week becomes a total of 24 hours you have spent on Snapchat.
I wrote this in word
Personal/Social Core Competency Self-Assessment
I know that my digital footprint can have both positive and negative consequences including maybe getting permanently banned from something you may need for a job so I adjust my actions by following the guidelines and rules of the app or site.
by doing my work online and sharing documents with them online I make a positive difference to my peers.
some of the ways I work to build and maintain online relationships are I make sure to check in and say hello and always being positive with a person because I don’t know what they’re going through or if they are going through something if they are I have to be careful of what I say and do because it could affect that person in a bad way.

when someone can connect with the audience and can make good eye contact. they project their voice so people can hear them speaking. their speech is interesting, organized, well thought out, and overall not boring. having a good speech is having a topic that maybe everyone is interested in at the moment, something that intrigues your audience, and maybe something that needs to be talked about.. being a good audience member means not being on your phone or any electronic device, listening to the people that are talking and paying attention their work. when they finish their presentation clap for them.
CollaboratingCore Competency Reflection
I know the group is working well together when I hear/ see them asking questions and having a conversation about the assignment.
If there is disagreement within the group, I find it helpful to go over each others ideas and opinions and find a solution that everyone agrees on.
I show others that I truly value their contributions by saying thanks and appreciating there work by looking it over and giving them feedback.
When I need to work collaboratively with people I don’t know well, I try and start a conversation to get to know the people i am working with.
I learned that it’s hard to build your own nation and you have so many things to factor in. you don’t know how many people are gonna be living in your nation and it could possibly grow, you don’t know if you’re gonna need more materials then you have, etc. I learned that in my nation I need a balance of people in power roles to make good decisions, but also to make mistakes and learn from them. not everyone in my nation could be super-rich and so I thought of a plan to get police officers or government offices etc to go check in on people who didn’t fill out an online survey to make sure everyone has the support they need from the government.
Core Competency Reflection
If I notice that someone in my group does not understand something, that’s a sign that my group needs help and we can get support by asking a teacher or peer for help to understand.
others find my feedback useful because it gives others my opinion and what I am thinking and it may help them make a decision.
i notice when people feel left out and I make sure to include them in all of the activities that we are supposed to be doing and get there voice and oopion on what we are talking about.
when I need to boost my mood or re-focus, I listen to music.
Which persuasion techniques you used (emotional, logical or ethical) and what you included to achieve that end.
Which advertising techniques you used: plain folk, card stacking, glittering generalities) and then which images, words, fonts, colours, etc achieved that objective.

I can contribute to and work with criteria to improve my own work; evidence of that is splitting up the PowerPoint and we each did three slides.
An example of something I have spent a lot of time learning about is how to save a PowerPoint to your device.
