Core Competency Goals

One strategy that stimulates my imagination is reading books or playing games to give ideas on what to do, my friends give me ideas aswell helping me think of great ideas. I use my creativity to create things or come up with new ideas on ways to get better at something. I have a great imagination because I can come up with ideas sometimes instantly.

When it seems the good ideas just won’t come to me, I play video games or read to help calm myself or create space in my mind to think creatively. My creativity is big and when I try hard I can do anything. It takes effort to create anything but thats a risk you have to willingly take. I can manage my thinking and I can choose between different ideas and choose the idea most flexible for me.

When I need to boost my mood or re-focus, I relax by breathing in and out slowly or I close my eyes for a minute to calm down and to bring my mood up so I can continue or start my day. I am usually focused but sometimes I lose focus so I have to re-focus to keep up in the class. Doing these methods help me and they don’t disturb anyone else either.

Woodworking Self Assessment

Mr. Huber taught the whole class on how to cut our top pieces to width using the table saw which was for my table project. All of the measurements were for the whole table top and my pieces were a bit too big, I cut one and found out I wasn’t cutting the with the lines and the piece was slanted more than straight. I quickly decided to use the jointer to straighten them all out at the end, but another problem occured. I tried to joint a edge and found out there was a knot in the wood so it started to chip, I noticed it and tried to get it out and found out it was getting worse. I soon realised that my piece was too ugly so I put it on the outside when I glued. That is how I solved that problem.

Self Reflection:

The skills I used to complete this project were identifying the right information for me to use for the slides and multitasking to get the assignment done on time.

I chose Sweden because my family on my dad’s side is from Sweden and Britain and I would want to know more about that country.

I learned more about the country and what problems they have and I now have more information than I used to have about Sweden.

I can explore materials and actions. I can show whether I liked something or not when I looked at the information for my project when it was done, I made minor changes and at the end the assignment was successful and I presented it with confidence.

I can get ideas when I play (work) when I browse for information to research for ideas for my project, I use information and while I put them in to my slides I get more ideas and put those in aswell. I enjoy getting new ideas because I choose what I like.

I can get new ideas in areas in which I have an interest and build my skills to make them work when I research for ideas I get more ideas and I try to put them in and I can make changes to make them all work. I enjoy the work I do and with the finishing product of the project I get a good feeling and I am happy with the work I’ve done.

I can use evidence to make simple judgements when I was researching information for the project, I can identify the problems with population growth and can come up with a simple solution. I assess the information I provide and give some solutions to get a good mark.

Core Competency: I can ask questions and consider options. I can use my observations, experience, and imagination to draw conclusions and make judgments.

When I did this assignment I asked many questions on what to do and I got help from it to understand how to make a resume and modify it. I used power words to enhance my wording in my sentences to make it sound more professional. I took the help from my parents and used that to modify my resume independantly, I really want to get a job and so I had to make my resume the best I could do if I want to get work. When I do any other work either assignments, projects etc, I always ask questions, even if I know what I’m doing. I can make my own judgements on my work because I can identify what I got wrong and what I can do to fix it, I can do this independantly or with getting judgements from peers. I have a good imagination so I can come up with great ideas once in a while, I used to have a lot more imagination and creativity when I was younger and now that I am older lots of it has gone away. During the creation of this assignment I asked for help from my parents and I looked over with them to find the mistakes but this was a few months before this assignment was published because I wanted to post my resumes around my area to try and get a job.

What did you learn?

I learned how to properly create a resume so I can apply for jobs. I learned to enhance my wording with power words so I can have a more professional sentence to catch the attention of the employer. I learned before this assignment how to work independently.

Linear System Group Assignment

Purpose

Our group needed to create a graph and an equation.

Curricular Response

Question: Justify your mathematical decisions. Give reasons for your choice of equations and for your choice of algebraic method.

I decided to choose this equation because my group and I chose something random and if we got it wrong we would choose a different one. Thankfully we chose a good one that when we plugged in our answer into an equation; it was right and we were able to see the equation as the interception between the 2 lines. As a group we worked hard to get the right answer and everyone contributed to get both the equation answer to graph the equation. We as a group communicated with each other and focussed on our work more than being off topic. The Equation that we all chose was easy to understand and it was kind of fun to do. I came up with some ideas on what form we should use so we chose to do subsitution because it was easiest.

I find it easy to be part of a group because I can contribute with my skills of math and quick thinking, I am able to work well when I need to.

I can show a sense of accomlishment and joy. I take pride in my work and myself because I work hard to get a good mark, I can work well with others and be confident my group can get for our hard work.

I can tell this is a linear equation because the graph is just a straight line, I can also tell from the equation that there are no exponents over one.

i can tell this is not linear equation because on the graph the line isn’t straight, I can tell the equation is a linear because there are only exponents of one.

I can tell this is a non-linear equation from the graph because there is no straight line, there are exponents of two on the x and y so I can tell that is a non-linear equation.

My Utopian City

Belonging: I chose belonging because I think that everyone should have a place to live, even if they are a different race or gender. I chose to create a homeless camp to show that the homeless are welcome.

Kindness: I chose to make a hospital to show that all medical care is free and everyone needs it. I also added a homeless center for food for the homeless people who live in the homeless camp.

Community: I chose to build a village with a few houses for the people, homeless camp, homeless center for food, mayor’s house, hospital, and a farm. I built all of these to make a healthy village and it makes all of the citizens happy.

Healthcare: This build that I made was the hospital, it was close to every house in the town so it was easy access, I made it so the healthcare was free to everyone because I believe that healthcare is the most important thing in a city.

Education: I have a school for education and I think that all children need to learn because if we didn’t have it, we wouldn’t have the city. Education is an important thing in life, you learn and grow as a child and with that you can work. I need workers so that is another reason why I need a school.

Communication Reflection

Me and my group chose to use my minecraft project for the town, I’ve added all of the core competencies that I’ve chosen for the buildings or features the town. We used discord and snapchat to communicate. We all thought of adding homeless shelters or tents to show that they belong and of course we added a hospital. The education for schools were important to us because we wanted the children that lived there become whatever they want to be. I added a farm but that wasn’t one of the competencies, it was for the food and crops. I needed a center for food for people in need so then I added the community center for the homeless because that’s all of the people that are in need of food for now. Overall my group and I made a pretty good town.
