Chapter 1 Pre-Calculus 11

When I first attempted this problem, I encountered some difficulties solving it. I found it challenging due to all of the steps involved. The most difficult components of this problem were remembering to foil the brackets, and correctly moving all terms to one side to use the zero product property law. I was frequently making mistakes regarding these steps. To fully understand how to effectively solve this problem, I consulted multiple strategies. I reviewed the notes and asked my peers to help me understand. The most important concepts I needed to remember when completing this problem were to foil terms, use the zero product property and factoring terms. The next time I encounter a problem, I will ask my peers and consult other resources available to me, such as a video tutorial or a teacher.

Lab 20G; Titration of primary and secondary standard solutions

Communication Core Competency

This lab is a good representation of my ability to communicate with those surrounding me. I was able to work with others to achieve a goal. I also demonstrated my ability to take on roles and responsibilities in a group. My partner and I were able to successfully work together to achieve good products by communicating and sharing responsibility. We were able to properly titrate oxalic acid with sodium hydroxide. From this data we were able to find the amount of NaOH needed to neutralize the oxalic acid. From there we were able to create a standard solution.

I can gather and combine new evidence with what I already know to develop reasoned conclusions, judgments, or plans.

I demonstrate this core competency in my class party budgeting project. By using my current knowledge and researching further, to create a budget for a class party. I researched into locations and prices to make the best possible use of the budget. I looked into the prices of movies, and decided on the movie and drink package that would best match the budget given to me. I also had to research what other activities the party could do to use the rest of the budget. After doing all the research I was able to put together a well thought out plan for a party that met the budget requirements. From this project, I learned how to effectively spend a budget. This is important as budgeting is something used in everyday life by most, if not all people.
