Life Saving Measures

There were a few details that I had kind of forgotten, much to my surprise. I could somewhat remember the fundamentals of performing 30 compressions, but I couldn’t remember how many rescue breaths. 2, 3, or 5 was it? Did it actually matter, too? I too had no idea how important an AED was and thought it was simple to use. Learning that an AED significantly improves chance of survival was good information to have in mind. Finally, when the firefighter talked about personal experiences, the significance of knowing how to perform CPR on a person struck me. Therefore my 3 take aways are being able to perform compressions and rescue breaths correctly, the importance of an AED, and the importance of knowing this “survival” tool. I initially thought this class was just a bother, but I now enjoy that I feel competent to help in an emergency. CPR is simple to learn and can be studied in person or online. Although I hope I never need to, I am aware that I could.

This year, I will try to take on more responsibilities in order to improve my skills as a public speaker. As a skilled speaker, I usually offer to speak on behalf of a group, but I will also try to contribute to other groups and partnerships. I’m confident that this will allow me to improve my teacher’s understanding of what I’ve learned and provide her with a more accurate account of what it has been.

I can recognise my emotions and use strategies to manage them

I often find myself bored in class. This is because I have not been able to participate in the activities of my own education. In order to keep myself engaged in the learning process, I will try to participate in other aspects of the class. When I get bored, I will try to find ways to improve myself in order to keep myself motivated.

I am kind to others, and support others when they need it

One of the most important factors that I will try to improve in this year is becoming more friends with other students. This will allow me to participate in more of the class discussions and projects. To start, I will need to paste in at least 100 words. For the best predictions, I will need to make at least five paragraphs

Marketing 11: Creating a Promotional Video for Course

In the process of making this project I developed a strong sense of creative thinking. In order to make my project stand out and be different from others I had to think creatively. I asked myself “how can I make mine different, above others.” At first I struggled however Sam and I went through a series of brainstorming considering we were both determined to get a good grade. Finally, we decided to add short video clips on some of the slides to try and do something different. I also made sure all the pictures I used were creative in someway. For example my 6th slide talked about how you can learn problem solving skills within this course. Thus I added a picture of a guy thinking instead of another boring drafting and design picture. Furthermore, with the help of my peers and Mrs.Caldwell, I was able to simply make my project better than before.

Critical and Creative Thinking

During the completion of this project I used both critical and creative thinking. I thought critically to make my project fulfill all criteria and I had to identify how each sustainable structure uses energy, whether its potential or kinetic. Furthermore, I thought creatively to try and make our project different from others.

Communication

I demonstrated some communication in this project, although we had much room to improve and work on, Bella and I established strong communication. We had each other’s socials including Instagram, snapchat, and phone. Thus we worked well together. However, we unfortunately didn’t have a groupchat including all of us, hence we didn’t communicate well as a group.

Personal and Social

In this overall project, I fulfilled all my roles and tasks according to plan. I ensured that my group mates completed all of their tasks and I also made sure I fulfilled my portions. I helped with all parts of the project such as the voice overs, scripts, and the structures in the actual game.

Testing is an essential part of developing a quality product. Why you may ask? Well, the testing phase of a product ensures that the product operates as expected due to many different malfunctions that can occur. If certain requirements are not met, this can result in customer dissatisfaction and a drop in sales of the product. A big part of testing and giving feedback is the communication skills that are set in place. Giving proper feedback should result in a positive impact on your product as it improves the quality, effectiveness, and result. The TAG format is T. Say something that you were amused by, A. Make a recommendation for how they could do better on the assignment, and G. Inquire a question about their assignment. We use this format to give proper, successful feedback.

I chose this statement because this project has taught me to listen and respond in order to give “feedback” to my peers.

This is one goal I am working on, as presentations need to be thoroughly practiced, and my lack of organization and presentation skills are still yet being developed. I will achieve this goal by putting in more time for my projects.

February Reflection

I can recognize my strengths and take responsibility for using strategies to focus, manage stress, and accomplish my goals.

A strategy I used to to focus during class was to participate in the warm up section. For example, “What inspires you?” This question forces us to critically and creatively think in order to answer the question. This ultimately “warms up’ my brain to accomplish the future tasks and assignments.

I can recognize my strengths and take responsibility for using strategies to focus, manage stress, and accomplish my goals.

Unfortunately, I have trouble managing stress and focusing in class. I try and find ways to relieve my stress outside of school yet I still feel overwhelmed. I still seek to find a solution. On the other hand, I have identified strategies to maintain focus. For example, turning my phone off, going into a quiet room, and much more. However, my brain decides not to do it.

Choose Your Own Adventure: The Crash

My partners names’ are Mathew, Luca, and Jayden and we created this story for English 9. The theme of this story is too never give up no matter the circumstance.

Communication Reflection

-Describe what your project is about and how to use it. What program did you use to create your design?

This English 9 project is about creating a story online using the Twinery app. You can create simple stories or go beyond by using variables, images, and sounds.

-How did you communicate with one another? How did you listen to one another’s ideas and provide one another feedback? 

Since we only had English class at school two times a week, my group members and I decided to talk and chat using discord. Using the friendly online app we were able to keep track of everything and provide feed back for our peers.

-What were your responsibilities in the group and how did you make sure each member contributed to the design? 

 In the group I was responsible for the sounds and creating slides and as mentioned we used the discord app to keep track of everything. Therefore everyone was able to complete their jobs and contribute significantly to the project.

-How well did you work as a group? Did you use time efficiently together?

Since we all knew each other in the group, communication wasn’t an obstacle we had to overcome. We used class time wisely considering this project is worth %25 of our grade. Furthermore, we discussed our strategy during our leisure time to create a better quality project.

How were decisions made? Did you face any problems—if yes, how did you solve them? 

Through discussions as a group within and out the school we were able to make decisions. Fortunately we didn’t come across any problems other than the fact that no one wanted to do the sounds. In the end I decided to do them since no one else was willing to.

Were you satisfied with the final product? How could you improve on this process for next time?  

In the end our project had a few minor errors for instance spelling and grammar. Therefore, we could improve on those minor errors for next time.

What’s the World Around Town

a.) I was able to identify how the geography impacted the town. I found out the reasons by looking at my notes and thinking outside the box to see the possibilities of the impact.

b.) I personally like old school pen and paper since there are various steps to remember when handling a computer. However, after watching the instructional video on how Map.Hub works, it was a smooth path afterwards.

c.) I am not fully satisfied with my result of my solutions since I couldn’t find any facts on the internet. I overcame this by writing in many possibilities.

d.) In the future I could use my time more wisely and learn how to research since those were my main 2 struggles I experienced in this project.
