In the artifact video, I can show a great collaboration with others on group activities/work. My role was being the idea creator and the filmer of the group. The group members and I were able to smash up our heads and create ideas for our Rube Goldberg system. Our group planned out the Goldberg system and thought the main reason why the system was built by thinking of something simple that we could create with no difficulty thinking. We all helped each other when we had no idea or had ideas about how the system could have been well built. But, also had funny ideas at the end and a funny ending to the video.
I can value diversity, defend human rights, advocate for issues, and interact ethically with others
· What are some pros and cons of knowing what your genes are? Who should or should not have access to that information?
The pros of knowing what our genes are showing who we are, and maybe having a special ability that only our family has, the cons of knowing our genes are that the genes from the parents could have a disease(s) and be spread to the offspring. Being able to know our gene isn’t that impactful to know others but it shows who we are and not just born for nothing. At a young age, we won’t be able to know why our genes are special or what the good reason is but when we get older and get kids then it really shows the happiness of saying, “that’s my boy/girl” because of the talents/traits from ourselves and the husband/wife. That’s what some parents feel even today (in my opinion). Also knowing a special ability like having natural superhuman strength can be awesome, having immunity to a virus or a disease can be awesome or having high intelligence naturally can be awesome too. The cons of knowing our genes are that we know we end up getting the same disease or body height, body shape, and bad facial expression types. It may not be good to have a disease but it really sometimes shows the confidence in ourselves and our parents in showing who we are. For a review, the pros of knowing what our genes are showing who we are and where our family or ourselves are from and the cons of knowing our genes are having the same disease(s) that affects our lifespan or making a weird facial shape.
