Creating a Positive Digital Footprint
Personal/ Social Competency Reflection
I know that my digital footprint can both have positive and negative consequences. It may affect in my future job opportunities by people viewing my profile, and even people around me such as friends and teachers. Commenting words that hurt and insult people may lead to a fight online and even in trigger fights between friends. However, commenting and posting online may affect positively too. I learned that once I post something online it will last there forever, to avoid negative consequences in the future I deleted my old accounts that I don’t use and changed my passwords to longer and more unique ones to reduce the risk of hacking.
To keep a healthy, and balanced online presence I delete old accounts that I don’t use. For protection from hacks, I create long and unique passwords. Also, in social media I do not accept requests from people that I don’t know and delete my history on google.
By doing social media I can make a positive difference to my peers by raising awareness of different and important issues. There’re so many issues that should be known to more people and by posting it online I can bring more attention to it. As more people post, tag, and comment their ideas people will slowly take action to it and may make a huge difference to the society.
