The Writing Process
When writing this essay, I found some things easier than others. I could easily transition from one paragraph to the other. However, I had some trouble creating a main idea for each paragraph and stretching out the story to fit the desired length. I also had some trouble integrating some quotes because I did not quite catch what my parents said when interviewed. I had to go a little further and ask some questions again when I started writing the essay.
Core Competency Reflection
I show that I value feedback from others in my group by using their peer edit advice in my essay. When they gave me insight, I changed what I did wrong and fixed it. I remain open minded as I explore viable options or alternative approaches, like when I was unsure how to word some of my sentences. I would use a thesaurus or get someone to peer edit my work. One strategy or activity that stimulates my imagination is listening to music while writing. It helps me focus and be more creative. I show others that I truly value their contributions by using their feedback. I would not disregard what they said, and I would use their advice. One of my goals for next time is in the personal awareness and responsibility area. I would want to work on having valuable ideas to share about for peer editing others work, and do so by giving the insight with more thought in my answers. I want to expand more on my advice instead of giving short sentences.
