The NaloxHome presentation helped me become more aware of the opioid crisis in North America, especially in Vancouver. The presenters talked about how anyone can be affected by an overdose. Some of the measures society has taken, like drug decriminalization and safe supply, are controversial, however, Naloxone is a proven way to reduce the fatalities related to overdoses. It is a medicine that can quickly reverse the effects of an opioid overdose. Naloxone is something that anyone can obtain for free, and NaloxHome encourages everyone to have one just in case they witness an overdose. NaloxHome believes harm reduction is the most important thing when it comes to drug safety; Naloxone is the last resort.
