I understand how my values shape my choices.  I value making the right choices in class.

I recognize my emotions and use strategies to manage them. I recognize that I can control my emotions sometimes when I get angry I walk away or just not talk to people.

I can identify my strengths and identify my potential. When I Exceed something I enjoy it.

Japanese-Canadians Internment Paragraph

Japanese-Canadians should not be put into internment camps because splitting up families and selling of their belongings is awful.  Family is very important and it is evil to break up families based on rumours.  The RCMP has not found any evidence that Japanese people are planning to do bad things to Canadians.  Can you imagine saying goodbye to your family when the men are send to one camp and the women and children are sent to another?  Also, selling off their belongings is not fair because they worked hard to get where they are.  It is already hard for them to get jobs and when they do get jobs they get paid less.  By putting them into internment camps they are also not supporting the economy.  Japanese-Canadians should not be put into Internment camps because it is not necessary to protect Canadians and negatively impacts Japanese people.

my most successful lab

My most successful lab my breakfast hash. Smelled like eggs and potato’s and there was some onions smell. the Noise was the onions sizzling and the potato’s in the microwave and the eggs on the frying pan. The taste was potato’s and eggs and Brussel sprouts and a small taste of onions. It looked really fancy it has two eggs and lots of different chunks of potato’s and more. It felt bumpy and moist. this is my most successful lab because it looks really good and yummy. I think we met the product standards because it looked really good and it tasted good and all of the veggies were cooked and all of the veggies were kind of the same size and there were lots of flavors. there was one challenge it was making sure the potato’s were cooked. My greatest success was probably the final product because it just looked very good and something I would eat and I don’t really like eggs. I am most proud of the lab because it looks really good and it had a lot of flavors. In this lab I learned a lot of knife skills how to cut different ways to cut the veggies and how to play with flavors.

most challenging food lab

most challenging food lab was the veggie pop pie. Smelled like veggies and dough. The noise was the veggies being cooked and the sound of the dough being made. It tasted like veggies and kind of like chicken even with no chicken in it. It looked like a pie the exploded but the dough was nice and gold brown on the sides and there was a pop of colors from the veggies. The top of the pie felt bumpy and crusty and the filling in the pie was smooth ,creamy and chunky. This is the most challenging lab because there were a lot of steps and we can’t over mix the dough. The successes in the lab was how it tasted because it was not bad at all but it would of been better if there was chicken in it.

favorite food lab

This is the lab I made a grilled cheese and it is my favorite lab. It smelled like cheese and peppers. The Noise was the sound of the cheese dripping out of the side and sizzling on the pan. It tasted like cheese and peppers and toasted bread. Site, the bread looked crispy brown and a pop of red peppers in the sandwich. It felt crispy, the cheese felt gooey. This is my favorite because it smelled good and it looked good and it was fun to make. Some challenges were making sure the cheese was melted and it was kind of hard to flip the bread because it was hot. My greats success was how it looked you were able to see all the ingredients I put in the grilled cheese. I am most proud of how it teste a first I thought it was not going to teste to good but then I tried it and really liked it.

breakfast home lab

Smell was bacon and fresh veggies there was a smell of onions being cooked and the potato’s. Noise I was able to hear the bacon crackling and the onions crackling I was hearing my knife copping the veggies and the blander and the toaster. Taste it had a lot of flavors like a egg and avocado peppers toast and ketchup the potato’s taste like onions. Site it looked like a sandwich with lots of veggies in it you were able to see green red brown things in the sandwich. Touch it felt crunchy and crispy the potato’s felt moist. I picked the sandwich because it had the most ingredients in it and it just looked the best and sound the best out of the other 3. Some challenges were the eggs were kind of to runny. My best success was that I made it for 4 people and everyone liked it and the potato were cooked prefect . I am most proud of that I made it for 4 people and everyone liked it. my adult said it was good she just said that it did not need the cheese

Knife Skills

When I made the omelettes I was not good at cutting and my knife Skills were not good. My food that I cut was not good looking and it took me awhile to cut and they were not the same size. But in the breakfast hash my knife Skills were a lot better it didn’t take me as long to cut the food and my food pieces look nice and we’re all kind of the same size. Somethings you have to remember when using a knife is try and keep your fingers away from the knife. Try your best to keep the tip of the knife on the cutting board and you might be scared at first but it’s not as bad as you think. You might be not that good at cutting at the start but you will get better over time. The why you Cut some food can make the dish different because the food can be bigger and it will make the texture different. It can make it taste different sometimes.

Kitchen tools/appliances

One of the tools that I think is most useful is a rubber spatula. Because you can use it for a lot of things you can use it to put butter on a pan you can use it in a hot pan with food in it to Mix it. I picked it because when I look at tools in the kitchen the first one I think of is a rubber spatula. It is used for a lot of things mixing when you are making a cake you can make sure you get all of the cake mix out of the bowl. We have not used them for Scraping things out of jars. I used The rubber spatula in my omelet lab to mix around my vegetables.
