Core Competency Goals

Some skills I have developed to make my creative activities better are painting, drawing, writing, and idea planning. I love being creative and expressing my ideas in many ways, whether it be visual or written. In art class last year, I built on many skills such as painting, and drawing using many different materials. This helped me to express my ideas in new ways and also taught me the importance of planning and time management. This semester, I hope to continue to build on my skills to help me convey my ideas to others and do what I am passionate about.

Some short/long term goals for myself include making a point to be on time and speaking up more in class to share my ideas. My plan to achieve these goals is to start making schedules for myself and writing more things down and making sure to raise my hand at least once per class. I have already started to make schedules and to-do lists for myself, as well as setting alarms so that I can get things done one time. This has already started to work and I have noticed a change in my productivity, so I hope to keep this up all year and I will continue to work on sharing my answers in class.

Some ways I work to build and maintain relationships are making sure to communicate with people and finding connections with others. I am not very social and it has sometimes been hard for me to talk to others, but through the start of this year I have begun to talk to more people in class. This is helping me to speak up in class and find new friends and people to talk to. This semester, my goal is to talk to more people.
