Research Assignment Reflection

Collaborating

For the research assignment group project, I have demonstrated that I can work with others to achieve a goal. Our goal was to create a survey, and to accomplish that we had to come up with relevant questions to gather data and information to prove our hypothesis. As I worked in a group setting, we have been successful in completing our assignment by staying respectful to each other and being inclusive.

Thinking

When we were coming up with questions as a group, I formed new ideas to create new things and build on other’s ideas. As we shared each other’s thoughts and ideas, I’ve recommended my viewpoints to add on to their ideas.

Collaborating

I encourage others to share their voices and value diverse perspectives. I’ve demonstrated this competency by asking my groupmates their opinions and took into consideration on how we could put that into part of our project.

Artifact: Romeo and Juliet Unit Project

For this project, we had to create a Digital Awareness Campaign and find 5 songs that would be included in a soundtrack for a movie production of the play. I’ve demonstrated critical/reflective thinking while in the making of the project by remembering songs that would have relevant lyric to the story. When I was stuck finding a song, I’ve asked friends for recommendations so that I can have more options to choose from. When explaining which scenes apply to the lyrics, I had to recall and reread moments from the play that would be fitting to the actual lyric so that it could match. When I had some difficulties creating the layouts for the Digital Awareness Campaign, I looked back at some of my previous similar projects and added more ideas from that to create a new design.

Core Competency Self-Assessment

Collaborating in CLE 10

Artifact: cover letter

I contribute during group activities with peers and share roles and responsibilities to achieve goals.

For this assignment, I demonstrated this core competency when proof-reading my peer’s work and giving appropriate feedbacks and corrections. When I received my critique, I’ve listened respectfully of their ideas and added my own to make corrects accordingly. A challenge I’ve faced was that sometimes I don’t feel comfortable showing others my work, however it is necessary to do so if we look for ways to improve. When collaborating through this artifact, I learned that it was alright to make mistakes and that others aren’t perfect either. Accepting critiques from others is an important skill to have, because we will be getting many more throughout our lives, and rejecting this won’t help us to improve in any aspect of life.

About me

My bio

Hello my name is Amy, and I am a grade 9 student in centennial. I spend most of my time procrastinating.. I can focus best when I am listening to music so that I don’t think about other stuff due to boredom, but I actually get entertained pretty easily. Some of my favourite music artists are Ellise, Juice wrld and Iann Dior. My hobbies include editing, video games, learning a new program and possibly just browsing through social media. I am currently trying to learn how to do graphic designing on my own. I’m not a very extroverted person and would rather do things alone, but I am open to meeting new people. These are some brief things about me.
