Creating a Positive Digital Footprint

I created an infographic using Canva.com to show my knowledge. The infographic shows my learning of what a digital footprint is and ways to have a positive one. It also effectively shows what I have learned in a simple yet still unique and impactful way.

Personal/social Competency Reflection

I know that my digital footprint can have both positive and negative consequences. My digital footprint can limit future jobs, prevent university application, and overall affecting future connections with others. I adjust my actions to keep a positive digital footprint by double-checking everything I like, share, post, or comment on social media; As I do this, I am making sure that what I am doing online represents me as a person. I also always post and share issues I find important to me on my story, which causes others to be aware of it and share it.  

I make digital ethical choices like not over-sharing. By not oversharing about where I live, who my friends are, who my family is, and overall, personal information about me. I am keeping a safe and secure online environment by not over-sharing the environment causes me to be comfortable being me without the fear of creeps on social media knowing personal information about me, which could lead to peer pressure. I am always careful while sharing personal information online with strangers and or websites because I can prevent many negative consequences from occurring if I think before I share.  

I have many preferred strategies for maintaining a healthy and balanced online presence. A method I use is only allowing people I know or people my close friends are friends with follow me; As I do this, I get an account where I can be comfortable being me and feel safe at the same time. I also like having my account private; As I do this, I can keep my information protected and not allow random people who could be dangerous view my social media accounts.  

What’s The Word Around Town

  • Was I able to identify how geography impacts the town/city with ease? How was I able to find how the physical geography impacted these areas?

1.) I easily found how geography impacts Jasper, the town I chose to research. Before Covid, my parents and I planned to go on a trip to Jasper, so I had researched a bit about Jasper which helped me while doing this project; apart from that, I did some research about the characteristics I didn’t know about.

  • How did the technology personally affect my learning? What were the pros and cons of using maphub.com? Be detailed in your response here.

2.) Technology helped me a lot during this project. Technology helped me learn about geography, how the economy works, and it taught me different ways to show my learning. There was a lot of pro and cons of using map hub first it allowed me to show my what I learned while being able to use creativity in how I wanted the map and pinpoints to look; another pro is that it was easy to use to find all the places and pin them down. Although there are many more pros, there were also some cons; one of them is it made you save it every you added something to it, and I forgot to one time and had to retype the entire part. Another con is that it wouldn’t let me embed the link which stressed me out a lot.

  • Were you satisfied with the result of your design and solutions?

3.) I was satisfied. I liked how it turned out, and I was proud of what I learned during it.

  • How would you refine your assignment in the future?

My Bio

Hey, I’m Helia, and I am a grade 9 student at Cent. Here are a few things you should know about me! Some words to describe me are kind, honest, respectful, and all-around adventurous I love trying new things and having fun at the same time. Enough about that, some of my favourite things to do are playing soccer, volleyball, hanging out with friends, and listening to music; Some of my favourite artists and bands are Wallows, Rolemodel, Dayglow, and Clairo; Right now, my favourite song has to be hot rod by dayglow because it reminds me of summer 2019 which one of the best summers ever. Although I use music to express myself, I am going to talk about another way such as style; personally, I love to dress up to look good, not for other people but for me because it’s fun; Some of my inspiration comes from Kendall Jenner, Emma chamberlain, and Renee Bellerive Anyways before I make this to long I’ll stop.

Before I start talking, make sure to sign the petition above about an innocent black woman who was shot in the sleep by police. I chose this website because I am always on it to educate myself on important issues in the world; I think everyone should start caring a lot more and educating themselves about worldwide issues because if everyone does nothing, then nothing will change unless we all work together to make a change.

My Favorite Video

This video is from Youtube and I chose it to get more and more educated on it, let me get into more detail. I chose this video because I think its a very important issue that should be talked about more. After all, climate change is a real and important topic to know and learn about. I used this video for a speech that I did in my middle school; I made it to the school level, which was level 3. I find Leonardo DiCaprio very inspiring and educated; I love watching his movies, especially the old ones. On the other hand, his speeches are really good; The speeches are the reason I know so much about climate change. As he said in the video, our planet will die if we don’t take action IMMEDIATELY.

Firstly I found this picture on Pinterest of Kendall Jenner. I like this picture because I aspire to be like her, an independent, Feminist, and icon. I like this picture because first of all, she looks good, and she’s living her dream, which I dream and wish to have in the future; She’s just really inspiring and teaches me, and other girls, that they can do it. I think that is a very important message, to follow your dreams and never give up.

This quote is by Zendaya; I find it very inspirational as a female and feminist because we go through challenges. For example, we get called “dishwashers” and get told to “go to the kitchen!” which is unfair; nevertheless, the more I educated myself, I started becoming stronger and standing up for myself; Now I can prove them wrong by making educated and respectful responses and points which is great. For some odd reason, people find feminist gross which I find weird all feminists want is equality! and fairness! not to be better than all the other genders but to get the recognization we deserve.
