Japanese Judicial system Reflection

the Japanese justice system is evidently poorly designed and is often times detrimental to innocent people. Justice to me is the distributing of righteous consequences to those who are deserving of it while preserving people who have done nothing wrong. Justice is the system which separates evil from good. Though japan is often considered one of the pinnacles of a peaceful country, its justice system is corrupt in my personal opinion. People are guilty before they are proven innocent, thus they are treated as criminals before they are properly classified as one. in western countries such as Canada, though our police are more intimidating. We uphold the rule of being innocent before being proven guilty, simply put our systems are in reverse order. We treat our convict as people until evidence of their crimes are brought forward. Because of this i prefer our justice system and disagree with Japans, people should retain their rights unless they are obviously guilty, it is basic morality.

Everyone typically thinks of Japan as an incredibly peaceful and civilized society due to them not allowing any form of violence in general. however the justice system is a steep contrast to this idea with there being an almost dystopian system compared to the rest of Japanese culture and society. To me its shocking because of that, how can a country be so well developed yet have such a dogmatic justice system.

Though some anime and manga may depict legal procedures realistically, showcasing the intricacies and challenges within the Japanese justice system. Others might simplify or dramatize court proceedings for entertainment purposes. This could potentially leading to misunderstandings about how the system actually operates. A good example of this is the Law anime ace attorney. simply put there is a glorification in how extreme the justice system is in japan because of the media based off it.

Reflections on Japanese 11 and 12

During my years studying the Japanese language I have faced many trails and tribulations, initially the hardest part of Japanese class had been the numerous time consuming worksheets we were given. they had not been of issue however as I was able to complete them without fail. The tests had been easy due to their straight forward nature and few vocabulary words to memorize. During my current year of Japanese class the opposite is true, we have been given fewer worksheets and more tests. the difficulty of each test is exponentially harder as we must memorize vocabulary that we have learned 2 years ago. Each test also becomes more convoluted as each is uniquely designed so there is no pattern to practice for.

I have always not had much expectations from my time learning Japanese, I did not ever expect to be fluent in the language. Only that I needed it for a university requirement, as a result I only learned enough to get my marks. As a result I never really evolved my actual language skill.

I do not want to continue learning Japanese but for the purpose of this assignment I will state the few times Japanese may be useful. Occasionally I come across Japanese hiragana or katakana in my daily life, at these points especially for katakana I may be able to read simple food labels on Japanese products. This small advantage helps to keep my Japanese adept and are one of the few times my studies prove to be useful.

I do not use my Japanese outside of class unless I come across basic Japanese characters in some convenience stores.

1: Many people like to find wild ideas to explain things that we don’t understand. The Blood type horoscope is one of these explanations. However, though I don’t personally believe in blood type horoscopes to a full extent I do know some people that did. I had a Japanese friend named satoru who put his full belief in blood types, he would often say that I accurately represent the blood type O. This was quite intriguing because I do have O blood as well as some of the attributes of this horoscope. I like to believe that I have good confidence, ambition, and strong will. Through my personality this is evident as when I truly focus, I can achieve my goals. Still, I don’t fully trust blood horoscopes due to their superstitious nature and the lack of scientific proof supporting them.

2: I only surround myself with rational people and as a result don’t get close enough with people who believe in horoscopes for them to judge me.

3: Horoscopes are a fun tradition and provide a miniscule yet impactful bit of excitement in people’s lives, as a result people are likely continue believing in them but not in a serious manner. Horoscopes are a form of entertainment and so people continue to indulge in them.

4: I believe in Karma, personally I feel guilty when I so something bad to another person. if you don’t feel that guilt, I personally feel that the universe will convert that negative energy into something that will return to affect you in the future. Either way you get punished for doing a wrongful action.

Comparative Cultures Reflection

This project had been one of my better pieces of work, i believe that i had demonstrated good understanding of the topic and i was able to analyze the information provided well. During this assignment i believe that my inquiry and evidence skills had been very effective as when i was reading the sources i was able to not only inquire on surface level implications of actions and events but also connect it to a deeper level of understanding. I was able to put myself in the perspective of those who may have been effected by the laws, reading in between the lines. this would effect my evidence side of this assignment as well as because i had a multileveled understanding of the topic i was able to throughly provide evidence and support my point. The only criticism that i have for my Inquiry and Evidence skills in this particular project would be that i could have gone into more depth about how exactly kings would benefit most from laws in the 5th question.

regarding my capabilities of analysis and the ability to use information effectively i believe that i am good at internalizing information and truly understanding how things were. i can also focus in on certain points of interest when reading that i could use in my assignments. i am able to pick out useful information and form it into well put together sentences as well as include implications that are not written. This makes it so that when i am working properly my paragraphs go into depth on the topics. i can explain things fully in a compressed form as well which was a recent development in my work. Some times however i don’t produce my usual quality of work due to various factors. this may be because of confusion or failure to understand the topic, this results in a bad end product for example my most recent mesopotamia timeline. Something i need to work on would be consistency in this skill and equal portioning of introducing factors, events, etc and explaining them.

Titration Edublog

During this assignment we did titrations of acids and bases using HCl and NaOH. I demonstrated the core competency of effective communication and clear speaking as during this experiment me and my lab partner had set tasks for ourselves as to allow us to split the workload well. This strategy required good communication as each of us needed to know what we were to do so that everything could be prepared properly for the titration. I utilized communication skills by telling my lab partner clearly what each of our jobs were and how we were to go about doing them. This way the both of us we knew exactly what we were supposed to do and our experiment process was much easier to do and less confusing.

RSELF STUDY

I had used primarily the in class notes to study for tests and do assignments.

Reflection:

I believe that I had studied well enough for test as I had learned most material needed to do well. I believe that I could have done the test better however. This is because during the test I felt stress which meant I had made dumb mistakes such as using an old way to say something instead of the way we used during the studies.

core competencys:

An example of something I spent a lot of time learning about is the different literary devices the Japanese language use. I did this because it was needed to better understand the language and to effectively write complex sentences.

Some skills I used to develop my creative activities Is using art and reading as inspiration for the designs in my assignments. An example of this is the final project zine design which I had based off modern art that I had seen prior to doing the assignment.

to celebrate an accomplishment such as getting a good score on a assignment or test I like to take a break from studying and go to the gym to workout as well as work on my own personal projects such as my drop shipping platform and wood projects.

continuing learning

I will continue my learning of the Japanese language by reading up on Japanese books and trying to better understand past materials by rereading them, I will also likely take Japanese 12 so my learning is not over yet. hopefully I will be somewhat able to use Japanese as a third language by the end of my high school career.

if I could go back in time

I would tell myself to be more calm during tests as to not make dumb mistakes also to better focus in class so I have lesser workload for when I get home. This would have helped my overall semester one experience.

Artifact

This assignment is my artifact because of how it went. During this assignment I had originally not understood the learning material which resulted in a project that was unfocused and off topic. Despite the failure I prevailed by doing the entire assignment over again and put countless hours of time into perfecting my work. Eventually I had made something that was of quality of which I handed in getting a good mark. This assignment is a testament to will and what can be achieved if one works hard enough. This highlighted my thinking skill as I needed good mental fortitude to not give up on the work I was doing. This assignment had also built on my communication skills as I needed to communicate with my teacher to figure out what I had gotten wrong the first time as well as needing to discuss a hand in date. Finally I believe that this project had better explained Indigenous views on nature and life for me due to the correlations I needed to make with life and the eagle. Using an Indigenous point of view while writing it.

Huberman self reflection

Question 1

I believe that I lean more into the exteroceptive because I tend to be more focused on the things happening around me rather than the things happening within. This might be because I have issues on focusing on things due to a shortened attention span caused by constant use of social media. Social media is designed to overstimulate your brain, especially the “shorts” feature of it. The side effect of this overstimulation is a small attention span and therefore a more exteroceptive dominant mind.

I believe that meditation focused on internal actions may be best to help to fix my overly exteroceptive dominant brain.

Question 2

I believe that slowed breathing is better for me as it helps to allow myself to gain more oxygen and keep calm better. It may also help me to keep focused on my meditation due to needing to focus on breathing while meditation, this would result in m focusing more internally.

Question 3

I still believe that slow breathing would help because it will slow your blood flow and will therefore calm you down when in a stressful situation. it may also increase oxygen intake due to it being used in belly breathing which is used to get full air intake with each breath.
