Making and Sharing Reflection

Create food products, working individually or collaboratively, and making changes as needed

During this brownies recipe we worked very collaboratively because there were only two of us instead of four. Only having two people also made us make changes because we needed to do more duties than we usually do. We worked together to make things go faster as well. We created food products such as the batter first. After that we baked it in the oven for it to become a brownie.

Critically evaluate the success of meals, and explain how design ideas contribute to the individual, family, community, and environment

The success of this meal was amazing. It met all the product standards. If I shared this recipe with my family, we could start to make it at home. Sharing it with the community would make others happy because of how tasty it is. Not just this recipe but sharing any other design ideas would add to others recipes they already have and expand their cooking skills.

Core Competency Reflection

As an active listener, I notice that I listen during the demo to apply the things I learned to my brownie.

I show others that I truly value their contributions by thanking them after they do something helpful.

When I need to work collaboratively with people I don’t know well, I get to know them before the lab. I ask them their names and more.

If there is disagreement within the group, I find it helpful to do things my way. I should ask for others opinions first. My goal is to ask others on what they think, and not do things how I want it all the time. I will do this by asking my group members many questions on their opinions on things.
