Part 2

My first stressor is homework. I get lots of it and it gets me stressed. I use music as one of my coping strategies while doing homework. It helps me feel calm while doing my homework. Another stressor I have is when I get into arguments with my friends. A coping strategy I use for this is talking to my family about it. They tell me what to do and help me with it. A little stressor I have is soccer. It doesn’t stress me out too much though. I take deep breaths to cope with this stressor. Tests stress me out the most for sure. I study and ask questions to help out with this. In the past I asked questions before a quiz and did very well.

Core Competency Reflection

I ask and respond to questions to be an active, supportive listener. I chose this one because I do this in almost all my classes. I do it by asking questions in class.

I work with others to achieve a goal. I chose this because I do this every time I work with someone. I do this by working well with others to complete a project.

I can reflect on my thinking. I chose this because I always reflect on my actions. I do it by reflecting on how my thinking effects my work and grades.

I advocate for myself. I chose this because advocating for yourself is very important. I do it by sticking up for myself when I think something is right or wrong.

I am kind to others, and support others when they need it. I chose this as a goal because I want to be more kind to others. I also want to support others while working more. I’ll do this by thinking positively about others and asking people if they need help while working.
