Art Studio Core Competency Reflection

I demonstrated creative thinking in my portrait assignment.

To make this portrait and the elements in it, I first thought about what colors I associate with the person I’m drawing, I then looked at color blocking artwork and came up with my own shapes and lines based on the image I had for my portrait. I also condensed the image to basic shapes so that it would be easier for me to color block and draw.

CPR Reflection

I hadn’t realized how much energy it took to perform CPR, and if not for this course i wouldn’t know anything about heart attacks or cardiac arrest, nor would i have considered learning it. My main takeaway from this unit was how important it is to learn CPR and other basic types of First Aid, if schools continue to train their students how to perform CPR then the chances of more lives being saved will climb, and i think that’s great. This unit relates to the nutrition unit because of the relation between healthy eating and heart attacks, your chances of heart disease are much lesser if you maintain a healthy diet.

Core Competency Reflection

I ask and respond to questions to be an active, supportive listener.

I actively listen and respond to questions from the teacher during class, i demonstrate this in all my classes.

I work with others to achieve a goal.

During volleyball I worked with my teammates to get the ball over the net frequently, I’ve also had to work with teammates in other PE activities.

I give, receive, and act on feedback to progress in my goals.

When given feedback and tips during volleyball i act on it to progress towards my goal of becoming better at the game we’re playing.

I can show a sense of accomplishment and joy. I take pride in my work and  myself.

I demonstrate this from time to time and take pride in the work I do well in. (such as tests or performing tasks/activities)

English Language Arts Core Competency Self – Assesment

Artifact: Character Autobiography

In my TKAM Ms. Dubose body Biography I used critical thinking when analyzing this character. I looked back on writings from the book and recalled key character moments for Ms. Dubose, because the character is only present in a small portion of the book I had to make connections to behaviors and actions different from certain conclusions I’ve drawn. (Tries To Control section and Thoughts About Innerself section on official poster)

Choose Your Adventure: Become A Wizard

Communication Reflection

Our Twine takes you through the steps of becoming a wizard at Hogwarts, just like any Twine, you would pick different highlighted words to get to the next page. My partner and I both started this twine by switching back and fourth, each of us writing a page, and going off what the other wrote. Though a lot of the wizard part was Pamela. 🙂

Memorable Food moment blog #foodsblock4

My most memorable food experience is making food with my classmates in the foods lab, it was really fun creating good food with them and working together. In the end we always got to eat it which was usually good-
I really liked how the the scones turned out too, they had the perfect biscuit texture and tasted delicious especially with the sugar and blueberry mix on top. The ‘Mac n Curry was really good, I didn’t expect it to win but I’m proud of it and all the other food’s that I made even if some weren’t great.
Just in general, Foods Studies has been the most memorable, I haven’t really had an interest in making food until I joined and I’m happy about the experience.
