I manage stress by doing/pursuing the things I like to do, like walking, cooking, or yoga. I also connect with other people like my friends and family. Obviously because of covid, I cant hang out with my friends face to face, but we can talk on a video call. Technology, like my phone, is both a cause and coping mechanism of stress for me. It can cause stress, by making me procrastinate more often, and keeps me from getting off the couch or bed easily. In contrast, it can also be a way of coping. It can help you become more motivated by adding apps to set goals, or it can act as a diary and allow you to dump your brain. This year, technology impacted my stress more negatively then positive. Although technology has encouraged me to workout and eat healthy more often. It has made me procrastinate with my homework and leave it to the very last day, and allowed me to stay glued to my phone, which has made me stay indoors more often. Despite all the down sides of technology, there are some advantages. It allows you to work flexibly. Improved and faster communication to talk to people you wouldn’t normally talk to because of covid. Technology gives you the opportunity to keep track of fitness, like calories, steps, exercises, heartbeat, goals, sleep schedule, or even act as a GPS.
